Cliff Williams / The Tribune Tallassee Mayor Sarah Hill, right, said the budget for fiscal year 2025 is $12 million and is conservative.

According to multiple news sources, Tallassee's first female mayor will not seek reelection. Mayor Sarah Hill issued a press release with her decision Tuesday.

“After deep reflection, much prayer, and heartfelt conversations with those closest to me, I have decided not to seek re-election as Mayor of the City of Tallassee in 2025,” Hill said in a release. “It has been an incredible honor to serve this community — and to do so as the first female mayor in Tallassee’s history. When I stepped into this role, our city was working to rebuild from a difficult chapter in leadership. The city endured a period of instability and unwanted headlines that cast a shadow over it, but with the support of a dedicated council, we focused on restoring trust, rebuilding relationships with our partners, and returning integrity to City Hall. And together, we’ve done just that.”
